Cleanliness is an integral part of our everyday lives, yet certain areas often go unnoticed and accumulate dirt and bacteria. To ensure your living or work environment remains in pristine condition, this blog post will discuss five commonly forgotten places you need to clean and provide tips for tackling them.
Keyboard and Mouse
Utilizing your keyboard and mouse on a daily basis is second nature, yet often times cleaning them gets left behind. However, if these items are not regularly maintained they can accumulate dust, grime and even bacteria that pose potential health risks. To keep them clean follow these steps: unplug the keyboard and mouse from your computer or laptop before using a soft bristle brush to remove any loose debris from in between the keys; afterward use a damp microfiber cloth (preferably with rubbing alcohol or disinfectant spray) to wipe down all surfaces of both devices. With just this quick process you’re able to combat dirt buildup – as well as harmful germs!
Remote Control
Remote controls are another item that is frequently overlooked when it comes to cleaning. These devices can harbor germs and bacteria from frequent handling.
To clean your remote control, remove the batteries first. Then, use a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol or disinfectant spray to clean around the buttons and other areas where dirt may accumulate.
Shower Curtain Liner
Don’t overlook the importance of shower liners! They can quickly become mildewed and moldy if not properly taken care of. To keep them sparkling clean, unhook the liner from its hooks and place it in your washing machine with a cup of white vinegar or baking soda. Then, run a gentle cycle on warm water before hanging up again in the shower for an effortless way to maintain your bathroom’s freshness.
Washing Machine
The washing machine is something that most people assume cleans itself while doing laundry. However, over time detergent residue builds up inside the machine along with dirt particles which can cause unpleasant odors.
To clean your washing machine add two cups of white vinegar into an empty washer drum then run it on high heat for one cycle followed by another cycle using only hot water with half a cup of baking soda added into it.
Ceiling Fan Blades
Ceiling fan blades collect dust very quickly due to their location high above us – making them easy to overlook during cleaning sessions.
To tackle this issue you’ll need a ladder or step stool – carefully climb up so you’re at eye level with each blade while wearing safety goggles (if necessary) then use a microfiber cloth dampened with water or cleaner solution wiping each blade thoroughly before moving on.
In conclusion, cleaning these five surprising places might seem like an extra chore but they play an important role in keeping our homes healthy for ourselves and our loved ones.
Regularly cleaning these unexpected spots will help keep germs at bay while also keeping things looking neat and tidy!
